Anti-piracy charter

Piracy takes income from authors before a book has a chance. Everyone who works on a book through Fable & Frontier makes these commitments. The charter forms part of the contractor agreement and you accept it when you apply.

Version 1.0 · last updated 23 October 2026

  3. 3No AI training or scrapingI will not use authors' work to train, fine-tune or prompt AI systems, or put it into any tool that keeps or learns from it.
  4. 4No passing work as my ownI will not copy, adapt or reuse an author's words, ideas, characters or worlds in my own writing or anyone else's.
  5. 5No reading copies passed onAs an alpha or beta reader, I will not lend, forward or read aloud a manuscript to anyone, or let anyone else read it on my screen.
  6. 6Secure devicesI will keep authors' files on password-protected devices and accounts, and not on shared or public computers.

If the charter is broken

Breaking the charter is a serious breach of the contractor agreement and the non-disclosure agreement. Your account is closed immediately, payments for the work concerned may be withheld and refunded to the author, and we will support the author in any legal action, including copyright claims and takedown notices.

Our side

Fable & Frontier Publishing shares files with contractors only for the work booked, through the platform, and removes access when the job is done. We act on every report of piracy and issue takedown notices for the books we publish.
